Tell us what you did before image consultancy?
I obtained a degree from French Studies, but wasn’t sure of my calling. So I became a stay at home mum and I quickly became bored, especially by the daily routine. And this is why I find image consultancy exciting because every day is different and there are many aspects of it that you have to manage.
What made you choose to become an image consultant? What drew you to it?
I always loved style but being short and curvy, I really struggled to find anything that would suit me. I became so frustrated that at some point I was wearing only black leggings with a black top on daily basis. I admired all the beautifully dressed women around me and decided that I needed a change. At first I contacted a local stylist, but I thought that the information wasn’t detailed enough and wasn’t tailored to my needs. I decided to go deeper on style and that’s how I found Imogen and her amazing expertise. This has inspired me to become an image consultant myself. I knew that there must be other struggling women out there in need of a help.
What made you decide that it was time to do your training and take up this new career?
I wanted to help other women that felt lost in their style journey and perhaps weren’t getting all the relevant information. I want women to have access to accurate style and colour advice and for them to feel like they have all the information they need. I feel that women are their own best stylists, they just need the know-how.
What are you passionate about?
Telling the world who you are through your clothing. I find it fascinating how we can say so much through our clothing. I love those a-ha moments with clients when they discover their style recipe or when their face lights up when they see themselves in their best colours.
Who do you most enjoy working with? How do you love to help them?
I love to help women that want to understand their individual style. Perhaps they didn’t pay much attention to their style when younger and now they would like to really understand and refine it. I also love to work with women that feel invisible. I love to help them find the right colours and identify their style, watching their transformation. It’s very rewarding.
How does having a good image help people in their lives?
Hugely! It increases their self-confidence, helps them learn about who they are, they show the world they value themselves. They inspire others with coherent image that matches their words and actions. People perceive them as trustworthy and genuine. It increases mental well being and makes people kinder. I believe that one cannot be beautiful on the inside if the outside is not taken care of. If a woman feels confident and happy in her outfit, she has a much better mood and passes it on. Be it husband, kids, boss, etc. Taking care of one’s image is an important form of self-care.
How can you help people create a more impactful and relevant image for themselves?
By helping them understand who they are first and foremost. Based on that, they then know how to dress to show the world.
