Getting Ready

Training starts at 9.30am, though it’s great if you can come 10-15 minutes earlier by 9:15am so you can grab a coffee and get settled in.  We normally finish between 5:00pm and 5.30pm each afternoon.

Please note that the Beau Monde International is another local accommodation however it is not recommended! From past student experience this hotel was very dirty, beds uncomfortable, bed bugs sighted and overall was not very welcoming to stay.

You will be provided with all your tools and manual at the start of your training.

We provide coffee (coffee machine available), tea, fruit, nuts and biscuits for morning and afternoon tea. You are required to either bring your own lunch to eat here, or there are a number of cafes a short drive away from our location if you wish to go out to eat. We have microwave facilities for heating food if you wish.

If you are doing our Colour training, we advise that you wear neutral coloured clothing as it makes it much easier when you are draping your clients as you won’t be distracted by what you’re wearing in the mirror.

If you are doing our Colour training, please arrange people to be your practice clients for colour draping. Click on the Client Colour Draping Schedule button below and fill in the name of your client in each of the time slots. You will need a person for each of the following times and days:

• • Day 3 – Wednesday – 9.45am to 10.45am
  • Day 4 – Thursday – 9.45am to 10:45am and 2pm to 3pm
  • Day 5 – Friday – 9.45am to 10:45am and 2:30pm to 3:30pm
  • Day 6 – Saturday – 2:30pm to 4:30pm

They will need to be available for 1-2 hours for you to practice draping and applying makeup whilst they will learn about the colours that flatter them best!

Please let your clients know that they do not need to be wearing makeup. They will also walk away with a mini business card colour swatch, and to be welcome to purchase a full colour swatch if they wish for only $50.

If you’re doing the Personal Stylist and Image Mastery training course you will need to find 1 personal style consultation client to come and have a style consultation with you.

This consultation is on FRIDAY at 10am – 1pm

Please let me know at least a week before training (or earlier) if you can’t find anyone.

We do find that putting a note out on your social media channels is often a great way to find clients even when you don’t think you know anyone – someone you know may know someone who is interested and available!

We will also be doing a wardrobe audit in one client’s wardrobe as well as taking 1-2 client’s shopping.

For Personal Stylist & Image Mastery training wear some favourite outfits that you feel express your style.

For the day we do our Wardrobe Audit and Personal Shopping expedition (Saturday) please make sure you wear comfortable and stylish clothing – you will be doing a lot of walking around the shopping mall and on your feet all day – so flat shoes are advised.

You may also want a small lightweight cross-body handbag for the Saturday as you will need your hands free for carrying clothes and a large  handbag can easily become cumbersome and get in the way.

Bring garments that you don’t wear, think should work, but you are not sure why.
