How do I receive my online lessons?
Your lessons will be available on this website with your unique login which after you’ve registered and paid you will receive a password to enter with. You can enter and download your lessons and watch the lesson videos, then download and complete the lesson quizzes and your assignments for marking which you will upload into the system.
Help! I can’t find my login
A: Your username is your email address – scroll down the LOGIN page to the RESET PASSWORD field then enter your email address and click on FORGOT PASSWORD and you will be asked to reset your password (you will receive an email with the activation URL code to do this). Make sure to check your junk/spam/promotions folder for this email.
How to login and find my lessons?
How many lessons are in each course?
Personal Stylist and Image Mastery for Women contains 32 Lessons (a 1 day style practical is also available).
Personal Stylist and Image Mastery for Men contains 16 Lessons (the Women’s Style course is a prerequisite).
Personal Colour Analysis: Module One – Colour Theory contains 22 Lessons and Module Two – Colour Draping Practical is a 3 day Practical training session for those who want to learn how to drape and do personal colour analysis with the option to complete it via 6 video conference training sessions instead.
Do I have to send you the answers to the questions within each lesson?
No each lesson has a series of self assessing questions which are designed to have you think about what is discussed within the lesson and how it applies to you personally. There are also Quizzes that are automatically marked for many lessons and there are assignments which you are required to submit throughout the course to receive your accreditation.
How should I set up my work notes?
The course manuals are in PDF format, download and print these so you can write notes on them as you watch the lesson videos.
Each assignment is in a WORD document, download this and fill it in on your computer, then save a copy and you can upload it either as a word document or as a PDF file.
How do I submit my assignments?
You can submit your assignments by uploading them into the training portal of the website. Your trainer will be notified by email that your assignment is ready for marking. Please upload as either a WORD (not Pages) document or PDF file. Comments will be left on the training portal when the assignment has been marked. You can then move straight onto your next lesson once your assignment has been uploaded.
How long do I have to complete the course?
We recommend you complete the course within six months. If you take much longer then the learning will become diluted and you will not progress as confidently. If you wish to earn AICI CEUs you need to have completed (from submission of first assignment to completion) the program within 6 months. If you don’t wish to earn AICI CEUs you can do the course more slowly if you choose.

How are my assignments marked?
Your assignments are marked and comments are left on the training portal (where you uploaded your assignment), you may be asked to redo a portion of your assignment if you have not fully grasped the information.
Do I get support?
As part of your course you will have the opportunity for 30 minute zoom calls with your trainer during the training program.
This is up to you to arrange with your trainer. We would recommend that if you are having difficulty with a particular assignment that this is a good time to take advantage of this opportunity.
You’ll need to make an appointment and schedule a time for these calls. Your appointment for your call should be made at least three days in advance to allow us the best opportunity to make the call at a time which suits everyone.
Calls can be made via zoom to your trainer who will then have the ability to use video conferencing so that you can see anything which you may be discussing. You will be able to see your trainer as they make comments and give directions as they answers your questions.
Can I ask questions via email?
As with all of our courses we are constantly upgrading and re-evaluating the information within to make sure we present the best possible information for you to learn from. While there are only a number of zoom calls in your training there is no limit to the email contact you can have with your trainer during your course. Should you be confused by anything and require further information please do not hesitate to email us.
What if the course is not for me?
If you are concerned then start with the two complimentary lessons. Once you have enrolled and received your log-in you will have full access to the course and all of the intellectual property within it. It is for this reason that once you have enrolled refunds are not given.
Do I have to pay to do the first two lessons?
No you can try before you buy, start them straight away without paying any fees to see if you are interested in the information contained within them.

Yes, you can download our full course outline.
AoPI Course Outline
Are there any practical elements to this online training?
Yes, not only do you do consultations, wardrobe audits and personal shopping trips as part of your Personal Stylist and Image Mastery training program. You can also elect to come and do our Practical Training for Online Students courses which we run periodically.
In these practical courses you can learn the art of draping for Personal Colour Analysis (3 days) or via six online zoom sessions.
Experience a wardrobe audit and personal shopping expedition with your trainer in person (1 day) in addition to your Personal Stylist and Image Mastery training online. Courses are offered periodically, and if this is of interest to you please do get in touch with us as we put them on by demand.
Are there any additional licence fees that I need to pay each year to use your products and tools?
No, we don’t charge you licence fees to use our tools. You can purchase just what you need as you go, so only pay what you use with your clients.

We know that when you’re starting a business money is tight so we keep our costs down so that you can too.
Are there any additional costs on top of the training cost?
If you choose to do makeup as part of your colour consultations (and we recommend that you do as it’s a great bonus for your clients, they really appreciate it, plus it’s an additional revenue stream for your business), this is your only additional expense. We are happy to provide you with contact details for our makeup wholesaler so you can purchase directly from the supplier (no extra mark-up).
We also recommend that you join AICI (Association of Image Consultants International) which is the peak professional body for image and colour consultants globally. It’s great for you professionally and personally to belong to the AICI as not only do you get more educational opportunities, you also get to know others in your field and gain additional peer support. The annual membership fee for AICI is $240USD and you can join as a Skilled Member upon completion of your training program with the Academy of Professional Image.
Of course there are always other costs in creating a business (if this is the avenue you choose to go down), from business cards to a website, but unlike many businesses, overheads are low once you have invested in your initial start-up costs.

How long is the full Colour and Image Consultant course?
The course is split up into various modules which can be taken together or individually to suit your learning style.
Advanced Certified Personal Colour Analysis Training: 6 days
Advanced Certified Personal Stylist and Image Mastery Training for Men and Women: 7 days
Image Business Development: 1 day
What time do you start and finish the training each day?
Our classes start promptly at 9.30am and finish around 5.30pm each day. You are welcome to turn up slightly earlier to make a drink and get settled before training commences each day.

Do I need to bring anything to training?
Just your lunch! Training manual, notebook, pens and colour and image tools are provided, along with tea/coffee and light refreshments for morning and afternoon tea.
What colours do I wear to training?
If you are doing our Colour training, we advise that you wear neutral coloured clothing as it makes it much easier when you are draping your clients.

Please note that the Beau Monde International is another local accommodation however it is not recommended! From past student experience, this hotel was very dirty, beds uncomfortable, bed bugs sighted and overall was not very welcoming to stay.
How many people are in each course?
We keep our classes to 6 students or less so that you receive the attention you need.
Is it all theory or do you do practical training too?
Our Advanced Certified Personal Colour Analysis Training is extremely practical. Yes you learn the theory, but you also get to put into practise the skills you need to drape clients over 4 days of the training program, culminating in a full colour consultation with a live client (this is not a role-play situation, but a real-life experience).
Our Advanced Certified Personal Stylist and Image Mastery training includes all the theory plus practical application of what you learn in the classroom doing a Style Consultation, a Wardrobe Audit (in an actual wardrobe) plus a Personal Shopping trip with real-life clients (not with your classmates, but with real clients).
Do I find out my own colours and styles during the training?
Yes, you do. During Personal Colour Analysis training you will be draped and discover your own ideal colour palette, your signature colours and ultimate contrast levels.
In our Personal Stylist and Image Mastery training, you will discover your body shape, proportions, personality style and how to dress to flatter all your unique features.

Do you provide ongoing support?
Yes we provide monthly webinars plus a 12 month mentoring program for each training module. Each month after your training you will receive access to a new mentoring and business development module to assist you in setting up and growing your image business. You also have the opportunity to take advantage of one-to-one mentoring sessions with your trainer. Find out more about our mentoring program here.
How old do you have to be to train?
There is no age limit to style! We have trained consultants both in their early twenties right through to nearly 60 and have discovered that there is no one ‘right’ age to becoming a personal stylist and image consultant. Each age has its own advantages and disadvantages and what you put into your training and business will be reflected by what you get out of it.
Is there any pre-requisite for this training program?
Our programs have the word “Advanced” in their titles, but that’s not because you need to have done an introductory course beforehand. They are advanced because we teach you both the basic and advanced skills you need to really gain a thorough understanding of this complex field. There are no prerequisites for doing the training program, except that to learn personal colour analysis you need to be able to see colours well (not colour-blind or colour deficit). Ideally you should have a desire to learn, grow and be open to new ideas and concepts, a willingness to work hard to gain mastery of this fascinating area of study. Good communication skills are a bonus, but we believe you can master any skill that you choose to put the effort and action into learning.
Do I have to start my own business?
Many people who do our training wish to start their own image and colour consulting business and many do this with success. But not everyone is cut out to run a business! Some want the skills to enhance their work in the retail environment. Others who work in HR, personal training and in the communications fields want more image based skills to use in their workplace and to give themselves a professional edge. There are trainees who choose to do the training for personal development and have no interest in pursuing it as a career but enjoy using the knowledge they gain on themselves and with family and friends.
I currently work as a personal stylist what can you teach me?
We can teach you the science behind the art of personal styling and the language to explain to your clients what you’re doing. Plus we can provide you with a suite of innovative tools to use with your clients. We have retrained many personal stylists who have done basic courses, but realised quickly that they needed a more comprehensive and thorough course to really be able to work well with their clients in a variety of settings.
I’ve trained with another Image Consulting provider but want to upgrade my skills, what can you offer me?
Many of our students have found that even though they have already undertaken training with another colour and image consultant training provider their knowledge is lacking, particularly if they want to work with clients without the aid of computers or a studio. Our training is so comprehensive, many who have completed other trainers programs have found the full course content to be highly beneficial. Am I too old? The beauty of this industry is that to some degree age is irrelevant; depending upon which area you wish to focus on. Students have been as young as 21 at one end of the scale and others have reached retirement. To be successful in this industry you have to believe in yourself and be prepared to promote and market yourself.
Do you guarantee me work?
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee you work. Unless you already have an outlet to use your new talents it can take a number of years to build up a full time income. Your success will depend solely upon yourself. We can give you the knowledge but it is up to you to use those skills to market yourself. The Academy of Professional Image has all of its courses recognised by the AICI – Association of Image Consultants International. Each hour of training program = 0.1 AICI CEUs – so 4.0 CEUs is a 40-hour course.

How do I receive my CEU’s (continuing education unit’s)?
To receive the continuing education units you will have to fill out an additional form which you will receive when you finish the course. This form has to be filled in and returned to the Academy of Professional Image where we will submit it for you. If you are a member of the AICI your CEU credits will automatically be registered against your member name. If you are not an AICI member or you wish to receive a copy of your certificate you will be required to pay an additional $50.00 to cover registration and postage.

No you do not. Membership with the Association of Image Consultants International is strictly up to you. It is recommended however if you are serious about growing your business. This association has chapters all over the world and is the fastest growing association for image consultants in the world. Membership will open the door to you for many other channels of information and education. It is a marvellous place to network with like minded individuals. How can I pay for the course?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and PayPal. Payments should be made through our secure registration and payment site.
If you purchase the course upfront you receive a 10% discount on the cost as compared to taking the payment plan option. Early bird discounts may apply but only to Classing Training.
If you buy 3 or more modules from our Online Training you will get a 10% discount off the modules you select.
If you purchase both our Classroom Training modules being the Certified Advanced Personal Colour Analysis Training and Personal Stylist and Image Mastery for Men and Women you will receive the Image Business Development training for free (valued at $750!).
I want to do your next training program but can’t pay the full amount right now, how can I get you to hold my place?
As we keep our class sizes very small, make sure you don’t miss out. Pay a 10% deposit towards your training and then choose from a payment plan or to receive your 10% discount on your investment pay the full course cost upfront before training commences.
