Tell us what you did before image consultancy?
My degree is in International Tourism Management so I first started out working in hotel front office and the events sector. I then moved into Community Care with St John Ambulance and then onto HR in nursing homes. I eventually landed in education both as a community VCAL teacher and in private school Admissions and International Student Recruitment.

What made you choose to become an image consultant? What drew you to it?
My mum used to chat to me about how she had her colours done when I was growing up. It always stuck with me and I found it interesting. I started to take an interest in it while on maternity leave and with my body fluctuating so much after the birth of both my kids I found colour to be a good place to start in helping myself feel a little bit more confident and put together when I had never been more sleep deprived in my entire life!

What made you decide that it was time to do your training and take up this new career?
After having my two kids back to back in the last few years, I wanted to pursue an avenue to help support my family whilst still being able to be at home with them. They really are the lights of my life.

What are you passionate about?
I love seeing people love who they are and feel confident in their own worth and value.

Who do you most enjoy working with? How do you love to help them?
Women, particularly those in the tricky phase of raising young kids. It’s such a vulnerable time. You’re running on fumes most days but if I can help someone feel a little better in the way they look (and get them out of black activewear), it would make my day.

How does having a good image help people in their lives?
Having a good image not only makes you feel more confident in yourself and your abilities but also projects that view onto others. Who knows what opportunities will arise when you feel confident and present well.

How can you help people create a more impactful and relevant image for themselves?
By providing them clarity and the why behind why some colours work and others don’t. When you know the why, you understand yourself better and when you know yourself better you generally make better decisions. I hope that by helping people know what suits them it will have a flow on effect into every other area of their lives!

Anything else you’d like to tell us?
I used to be a competitive Irish dancer. I’ve also dabbled in body building and once hiked to Mt Everest Base camp.
